Greetings, I’m Emily, and I’m absolutely thrilled to introduce my new blog, “Warmth and Wiggles.” This platform is my creative outlet where I’ll be delving into a wide array of subjects catering to mothers with young children. Juggling the responsibilities of being a stay-at-home mom to my three beautiful little ones keeps me on my toes, to say the least. My vision for this blog is to offer a haven of shared insights, tips, advice, and engaging activities. I aim to foster a global community where moms from all walks of life can unite, sharing both the joys and challenges that come with parenting.

Reflecting on my own journey, I’ve had moments where I dearly wished my mother was around to lend an ear. Losing her when I was just nine years old was a defining moment, but I’ve been fortunate to have had remarkable women step into my life, guided by a higher power, to help me navigate its twists and turns.

Let me take a moment to introduce myself further. Raised in Wisconsin, my early years were marked by frequent moves until my mom’s passing. Subsequently, my father raised my sister and me in the same home until I embarked on a new adventure: joining the Navy right after high school. Eight years in total, with four active-duty years stationed on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, where I served as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Handler. The next four years involved more administrative roles. Upon completing my active duty, I embraced academia at The Art Institute. Here, I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. Freelancing took center stage post-graduation, until my partner (now husband) and I decided to embark on a new chapter in Ithaca, New York. We both pursued studies at Ithaca College, where I earned a degree in Studio Art.

Life’s twists led me to a banking job, suggested by a friend, and I found myself loving the experience. The journey then led us to Gilbert, AZ, thanks to my husband’s job opportunity. This chapter marked the beginning of our family growth, with my first child arriving in early 2019, followed by my second just as the pandemic swept in. Balancing motherhood proved challenging, especially given my pre-existing struggles with depression, which escalated into postpartum depression after my second child’s birth. Battling sleepless nights and intense demands was an uphill climb, but I’ve emerged stronger and more fulfilled.

In 2021, a desire to be closer to family took us back to Wisconsin, but life had its own plans. A little over a year later, we found ourselves drawn to Hawaii, where our third child was born in early 2022. Our current island life resonates deeply with us, filling our days with joy.

I extend my warmest wishes to you, hoping this glimpse into my life sparks a connection. I eagerly anticipate sharing my journey through this blog and getting to know you all better. Here’s to an incredible journey ahead!

Warmly,
Emily
